Meet Janene Tindall : Artist and Instructor

At Our Backyard Studio, creativity has always been a family passion. What began as a backyard project years ago has grown into a place where we not only create, but also share the joy of making art with others.

Today, we own The Weed Patch Store here in Union, where we sell many of our handmade and hand-painted creations, alongside our Etsy shop that reaches customers near and far. These outlets continue to be a big part of who we are — but our greatest joy is inviting people to experience the creative process with us.

Our paint parties are designed to be welcoming, relaxing, and fun — whether you’re joining friends for a night out, celebrating with family, or simply taking time for yourself. Each class is paced to fit the group, with hands-on instruction available for those who want it, and the freedom to explore for those who prefer their own style.

We host events in our Union shop, and also bring the experience on the road to restaurants, farms, clubs, workplaces, and private homes. Wherever we gather, our goal is the same: to provide an inspiring, encouraging space for creativity, connection, and a little bit of play.
